I know it has been a while, but with no further adieu, here are pictures of the pool construction. We hope to be done in a couple to three weeks. It is being done by Bob Schwarzlose, he's been great. I'll try to go in stages.

I can't believe it's been since before Halloween. Here's a great snap of our visit with Santa. Of course, James asked for a train. Bodie wants to be able to sleep through the night, at least that's what he told me at 2am this morning. Happy Holidays everyone. Maybe one of these days I'll add some of the pics from JDM's train party and our fantastic Thanksgiving weekend. For now, Mr. Claus will have to suffice.

First Day of School

So way back at the beginning of September James started his little preschool 3 days a week. He LOVES it- but probably only because he gets to tote his Choo Choo "back-cack." The transition was fairly easy - a few tears here and there but usually when we take him he just runs right in and starts tearing the room apart. The teacher also told us he's the loudest one there... aww we're so proud.

Bodie was not phased by his brother's absence.

James even learned how to drive at school.

After 5 hours (total) in a car, 2 hours on a plane and about 1 1/2 hours in the airport, we arrived at LAKE OF THE OZARKS!!! With my sister Kristen, her husband Mark and their twins- plus our fam... tha means FOUR kids under 2.... man did they rule the roost!! We all had a blast and it was so fun seeing all the kiddos together.

After a fantastic week relaxing at the lake, James, Bodie and I headed home to Topeka for more time with friends and family.

Bodie Scott Moore arrived last Wednesday, June 11th at 7:51am. The little man weighed 5 pounds, 11 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. He is healthy, happy, and has a hair full of black hair (where did that come from). All is well in our household and we're adjusting to life with dos ninos with lots of help from our family (thank God for Nana) and friends.
PS- To those who have seen my dear sister's blog, we did NOT name our son after Patrick Swayze's criminal character in "Point Break." The name actually came from Eva Gail Simon who mentioned it months ago. Props to Teri Rivette (who requested appropriate kudos) for making the Swayze connection. ALthough I do love me some Swayze, not enough to name my kid after him.

GRUMPY:
Some people think BSM resembles my dad, otherwise known as "Grumpy" to his grandchildren.

Colin and I enjoyed the last few days of our happy 3-member family spoiling JDM as much as possible. Enjoy these pics...

SO... James' attention span lasted all of about 5 minutes at the Stros game. We spent the remaining 3 innings inside the suite playing cars before we decided to call it quits. The most exciting part for him was spotting all the trains around the stadium. (Have we mentioned he is now completely obsessed with anything train-related? The kid yells choo-choo about 100 times a day).

Ok... sorry for the delay in posts. James' moving van finally arrived and it's time for more pics!! Lots of news around here... we had a great New Years get-together with 4 mini-me's running around. James got some spankin new ear tubes which seem to enable him to (finally!) sleep consistently through the night. We've had our round of awesome 2-year Birthday parties (3 of James' future girlfriends!) AND for those of you who haven't heard... we're expecting another munchkin in June. Doc says he thinks it's a boy but Molly didn't think he was too convincing so we're waiting for sonogram #2 next week.

ALso we've learned that our dear little boy LOVES blueberries and HATES chocolate milk. He also likes foraging under the couch for forgotten cheerios and popping them in his mouth before either parents stands a chance. Good times.

Ok... so for those of you who have had the pleasure of Baby J wailing his head off through any given meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), you might be aware of his "food issues." We have been trying to provide lots of guidance for his "food issues" to no avail. That is UNTIL we got the booster seat. It is a godsend. James will actually sit in it quietly and EAT. Here's some proof.

OK so technically he's not in the booster for this pic. He likes to play in the cabinets which is how I discovered the lil rascal has an affinity for maple syrup. Who knew?

We started the night with James helping Trooper get dressed.

Poor humiliated Trooper. He thought the costumes would disappear with the arrival of the kiddo. Troop was a flower this year although he didn't really know how to pull it off.

This article features Dr. Fraser who performed James' surgery and is pictured below with an older female patient. This photograph brought back tearful memories as it is exactly how Baby James looked for 2 days following his surgery. We head back to the hospital on Tuesday for our first post-op visit. They will do a sedated echocardiogram to check the progress. We are hoping and praying for good news. We are optimistic because the lil rascal is crawling around like a madman and playing with everything in sight!

So as most of you know - the last few weeks have been pretty scary for us. James had his heart surgery at the beginning of this month, and we are thrilled to report that he came through with flying colors. He is now back to normal-- with the one exception being house arrest for a few more weeks. Many thanks to all of you for the constant prayers and well wishes. Not to mention the wonderful gifts and fantastic dinners. We are so lucky to have such loving friends and family!

Our friend, Amy Simon, is studying photography at UT. We decided to forgive the fact that she is a Longhorn and ask her to take some family pics of us... I think we only have ONE taken in the last 8 months with all of us together. The results were really FABULOUS- Amy is really talented and she managed to capture some great shots.

I realize it's been quite awhile since our last post, but things have been busy in the Moore household. Colin has spent the last five days in LAS VEGAS... which unfortunately did not leave him with enough winnings for us to retire. Norma celebrated a Birthday and my oldest friend Margaret Rotert came in for a visit. After a crazy trip left her stranded in Houston, we finally got home Thursday around 3am. And to top off a terrible travel weekend, she just called and is stranded (again) in Houston until the weather clears. Thanks for visiting Margaret... and we're sorry about the terrible Texas weather!!!

So our Saturday started with Cousin Oscar's 2nd Birthday at the fantastico waterpark in Katy. Baby J was a little timid in the water at first....

Until he remembered it was just like his bath. Byw, this is his new gummy face. He started making it earlier in the week. I guess he's trying to smile.

Ohhhh... and Mamson gave him some Birthday cake. Check out the blue icing on his fingers. Ok, maybe I encouraged him a little bit too.

Sunday we headed to the beach with our friends Kelly and Lance Parks. Lance kept J entertained with a bootiful kite. He was mesmerized. Thanks to the Parks to a great dinner and company Saturday night... and for putting us up too.

SO, Colin and I set up our trusty inflatable pool Friday night and it was just barely warm enough by Sunday afternoon. We always regret not getting a real pool years ago... but our 50buck investment works just great.

Colin was sweeping baby J in and out of the water.

My Saturday morning started with volunteering for juvey community service hours. My, doesn't that hanging basket look fantastic? We also created flower beds in front of this house.

Thanks to my Nana and Grumpy who came all the way from Kansas to spend the week with me. They sure know how to spoil... thank goodness Nana knew where Baby Gap was. I was sick of having absolutely nothing to wear, and now I have a brand new wardrobe! Baby J's parents are grateful too for all the help and fun times. When are you coming back?

April Fool's Weekend

Saturday began with a trip to Houston for Sofia's daughter's Birthday (Sof was my SMU roommate). Somehow I managed to miss getting pics of Nicolas, their 2 year old, but he certainly is adorable!!

Saturday afternoon the rain cleared up and James got to try out the Super Duper Radio Flyer his Nana and Grumpy sent all the way from Kansas. They were certainly excited Colin got it put together... something less for them to do when they get here next week. After James convinced us that he (most likely) isn't going to fall out, he LOVED riding all around the yard and even in the street.

For awhile at least.

As if Gator County wasn't enough (see the post below), we had an enjoyable day hanging out in the yard- underneath our new umbrella we bought for the beach.

We don't know why, but James LOVES sitting on shoulders. He especially likes grabbing big fistfuls of hair and shoving it in his mouth.

NO, James isn't eating Cheetos yet. But this crinkly sack is definitely his favorite toy.

The best Birthday Party EVER!

So most of you already know I'm infatuated with alligators. My friend Marianne had her son's 4th Birthday party at the fabulous new park, Gator Country USA about 20 miles west of Beaumont. They boast the world's largest alligator in captivity - Big Al who is 12 feet long and 1000 pounds. DANG.

OKC Girls weekend 2007

Ok... So my posts are a little out of order. Last weekend I went to OKC to visit Toni and Baby Jacks, which coincedentally evolved into an awesome Girls Weekend. My sister did a great job of summing up how much fun we had through a montage of awesome pics. But here are a couple to summarize.

I think if you look really close you can see Toni's forehead in the upper righthand corner. I don't know why this didn't turn out -- I'm usually the master of taking pics with the one-arm stretch. Oh well...

And here we have Baby Jacks (or Jackson for his proper name). All bundled up and nowhere to go. ..

Here is the latest round of pics. This is James in front of the azalea bush- the weather here is finally beautiful and we spent most of the weekend either walking around the neighborhood or planting some springtime flowers.

Chili dog turned 2 years old this week. Clearly, the "dressing your dog in costume" habit must be hereditary. Mom and Dad, even Trooper is humiliated when I make him play dress up. But Senor Chili looks psyched. What does that say about your dog?

I think all the excitement of the noisemakers and hats tuckered Chili out. Here he is with Mr. Leo taking a long winters nap. Makes me want to curl up with them.

And here we all are (except Barry... but if someone will send me her pic that will be promptly corrected). We had a fun playdate with friends from law school.... and all our lil munchkins. It was all fun and games until Hannah and Jackson started making out in the wagon. We need to keep our eyes on those two! Thanks to all of you for coming and to Kelly for providing the grand play room.

Here's Puke in Your Ear...

My Grandpa has this saying, "Here's Mud in Your Eye." Neither me or Kristen have really understood what this means - it's just one of those Papa-isms that he is famous for (much like the beloved/hated da-boogeduhwah. Did I spell that right?).

ANYWAYs, I think we should change it to "Puke in your Ear"- and here's why.

Yesterday as I was in the shower I hear Colin yelling, "HELP HELP." He comes running in the bathroom with James being held in the straight-arm pose 3 feet out from his body. "Take Him, Take Him," Colin cries. Apparently, James had projectile vomitted straight into Colin's ear canal.

Wonder what he did to deserve that? :) Colin said even later that night his ear was all squishy.

Below are pictures of our absolutely beautiful wedding quilt that Sonya has spent the last four years of her life making. We designed the colors of our new upstairs bedroom around this quilt- and couldn't be happier. She designed the quilt as a combination of the Texas and Kansas stars and made every stitch with her own two hands-- no machine if you can believe it! It's absolutely beatiful and a real family heirloom. I was so excited to see how the quilt looked that I forgot to get her picture with it, so baby J will have to suffice for now. (I also realized I need to get pictures of the sides to show the amazing flower trim and embriodery).

(okay, now that James is rolling over frontwards and backwards, I had to wedge him in between the pillows and run over to snap the pic- he's a squirmer that's for sure)

I love this picture of Buddha (aka Boodster). He is six years old this February -- born on the streets of Houston where he was a "night drop off" to the ASPCA. Good thing I rescued him, although sometimes I catch him sneaking a cat nap in James' crib.
